1. Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Beach) Navagio Beach is the icon of Zakynthos. In the middle of the white sand lies a stranded cargo ship, surrounded by steep cliffs and bright blue waters. The beach is only accessible by boat, from places like Porto Vromi or Zakynthos town. Expect crowds, especially in summer, but the view more than makes up for it.

2. Gerakas Beach Gerakas Beach is located in the National Marine Park and is especially known as a nesting site for the Caretta Caretta sea turtles. The beach is wide and peaceful, without loud music or water sports. During the nesting season (May–October), some areas are closed off. It’s a great spot for those who want to combine the beach with nature.

3. Kalamaki Beach Kalamaki borders the busier Laganas but is much quieter itself. The shallow water and wide sandy beach make it ideal for families. You can also spot turtles here, especially in the evenings. Nearby, you'll find several tavernas and accommodations.

4. Xigia Sulfur Beach Xigia Beach is different from other beaches on Zakynthos. Due to natural sulfur springs, the water here has a faint smell and a milky color. Swimming feels like a natural wellness treatment. The beach itself is small and consists of pebbles. At the top of the cliff, there is a simple taverna.

5. Agios Nikolaos Beach

Agios Nikolaos is a versatile beach where you can both relax and stay active. There are sunbeds, beach bars, and plenty of opportunities for water sports such as jet skiing and parasailing. It’s a well-organized beach where there’s always something happening.

6. Porto Limnionas

Porto Limnionas is not a classic sandy beach, but a rugged cove with bright blue waters and rocky cliffs. It's perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing on the rocks. There are no sunbeds, but there is a cozy taverna with a sea view. It's a good idea to bring water shoes with you.

7. Banana Beach

Banana Beach is the largest sandy beach on Zakynthos. Here, you'll find everything: sunbeds, umbrellas, beach clubs, and water sports rentals. The sea slopes gently, making it suitable for families. During the summer months, it can get quite lively.

8. Makris Gialos

Makris Gialos is located on the northeast coast and offers a quieter alternative to the busier beaches. The small pebble beach and clear waters are ideal for snorkelers. At the edge of the beach, you'll find a few tavernas where you can enjoy a meal or a drink.

9. Alykes en Alykanas

Alykes and Alykanas are two adjacent beaches that together form a long stretch of coastline. You'll find a relaxed atmosphere, shallow waters, and plenty of amenities like restaurants and water sports activities. Both beaches are easily accessible and popular with families and couples.

10. Mizithres Beach

Mizithres Beach is located beneath the famous white cliffs of Mizithres, near Keri. This beach is only accessible by boat and is especially known for its exceptionally clear waters. A visit is often combined with a trip to the nearby caves. It's a great spot for those who enjoy a bit of adventure.

Whether you choose a hidden cove or a lively beach, on Zakynthos you'll constantly discover new spots to enjoy the island and the sea.
